Interests:
I am most interested in the quality of connection, be it in and to the text, between two actors, or when working with horses. I strive for the organic behavior rising from an honest connection. I see it when teaching the Meisner technique, which I have also used in my writing process with past and current projects. I look at writing from the actor’s point of view, from the inside, and tend to favour character driven stories.
I love great romantic comedies, and comedies with deeper levels of drama. Often I start writing a drama, but it evolves into comedy through the Absurd. Life is weird and painful, but tolerable when we can laugh about it. I’m interested in exploring lives of female characters that are not caretakers, wives or mothers. I have traveled extensively, as well as worked in many professions, from equestrian to executive level assistant, and my writing springs from the lived experiences I have had.
I am interested in fish out of water stories, stories that take place in various countries and times, stories that depict trauma and survival. And stories about love.
