Sebastian Granskog is a former journalist and a Finnish writer-director, based in Helsinki. In 2024 he finished his Master of Arts in screenwriting at ELO Film School of Finland at Aalto university. As a filmmaker he dabbles in dark humor, absurd concepts and horror and has written several genre short films, including science fiction comedy Crazy Crabs From Outer Space (2022) and horror comedy Bad Hair Day (2023), which he also directed. Crazy Crabs From Outer Space premiered at The International Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund 2022 while Bad Hair Day was the only Finnish film to premiere in the Generation XYZ genre competition at Tampere Film Festival 2023. Sebastian’s second directorial short The Locker Room was commissioned by Yle and is a horror film for children. Currently Sebastian is participating in the 10 week European writer’s room workshop Eureka Series Fall 2024 at The Series Mania Institute in France while also developing several feature film and tv-series.

Interests:
Sebastian Granskog prefers to call himself a genre writer and is passionate about films and series that dabble in elevated and supernatural concepts. He’s a huge fan of horror, fantasy and science fiction and is at his best when he gets to combine these genres with real emotions, societal issues and personal observations. As fear and laughter are closely related, Sebastian also enjoys infusing his concepts with absurdity and pitch-black humor.
Sebastian is also the co-founder and co-owner of production company Fragile Ego Films, which is run by producer Johan-Sebastian Rintala. During his spare time, Sebastian relaxes by training for marathons, watching horror movies and spending his time with hairless cat Thanos.
