Susanna is an emerging screenwriter and director with a fresh, feminist comedic style. She majored in Film and TV Screenwriting at Aalto University. Her master’s studies are currently on hold as she has been drawn into the professional world. She is currently writing her debut feature film, Vieroitussaari (Rehab Island), and developing a comedy series that she will both write and direct. In her free time, she takes improv classes.

Interests:
I love developing high-concept ideas, and I dream of expanding my career abroad with exciting new movie and TV series concepts.
I would describe my style as a mix of The Office and The Handmaid’s Tale. My high-concept stories usually incorporate elements of speculative fiction, comedy, drama, and sometimes thriller. My comedic approach blends dark, feminist, cringe, absurd, and satirical elements. I enjoy world-building, creating multidimensional characters, and making bold observations about society. I aim to view the world through an empathetic yet provocatively questioning lens.
In 2021, I wrote my bachelor’s thesis on screenwriting and artificial intelligence. I’m excited about the possibilities of utilizing AI in the film industry. Before studying filmmaking at Aalto University, I earned a degree in media engineering, which gave me a broad understanding of and interest in cross-platform storytelling.
